By accessing and browsing the content of this website, the user accepts these terms and conditions of use without reservation.
Unless prohibited by applicable law, the Museum reserves the right to alter and update the information contained on this website, at any time and without prior notice, and to change its configuration, presentation and terms and conditions of use. Users are automatically bound by these terms and conditions of use from the time they access the website and must be aware of any changes made to these terms and conditions.
Users accept their responsibility with regard to how they use the website and the content and services it provides. Users shall also be liable before the Museum and/or other partners for any damages caused to the Museum and/or other partners if these terms and conditions of use are not adhered to.

3. Information Regarding Data

The information provided by the website comes from the departments of Collections and Research and from the Documentation Centre of the Museu de Ciències Naturals de Barcelona Consortium.
The comments provided by the users are the responsibility of the person transmitting them, except where they are accepted as valid by the Museum and included in the databases of the institution.

4. Access to the Website

The Museum shall not be liable to the user for any damages caused by the use of this website or by any action deriving from the information provided.
The Museum shall not be liable for any safety failure or disconnection that may occur nor for any damages that the user’s device (software and hardware) or any folder or stored document may suffer due to the existence of a virus or viruses on the user’s device. Furthermore, the Museum shall not be liable for the incorrect functioning of the web browser or the use of a version of the browser that is not up to date.

5. Liability Derived from Links to Other Websites

The Museum does not review the websites that link to Bioexplora; these websites are maintained by third parties beyond the control of the Museum and the Museum does not recommend or approve their content. The Museum expressly rejects any liability for any damages suffered by users deriving from the information found on these websites.

PRIVACY POLICY

1. Objective

The Museu de Ciències Naturals de Barcelona Consortium (hereinafter, the Museum) undertakes to protect the privacy of all users who access the Bioexplora website, http://www.bioexplora.cat/. The content of the website is the property of the Museum, which operates, licenses and controls said content.
Users may browse and use the website without providing any personal information. The Museum shall have access only to the personal data voluntarily provided by the users by means of the appropriate forms or when the users have directly contacted the Museum via e-mail or other means published on the website.
If the website collects personal data by means of cookies, users shall be appropriately informed by means of the Cookie Policy and, if necessary, via any other legally required means.
This document establishes the Policy of the Museum with regard to how personal data collected on the website are processed. 3. Purpose of the Personal Data Collected

The personal data provided by users to the Museum when they contact the Museum via the website or by e-mail shall be used to assign appropriate authorship to the comments and content provided by the users.
Personal identification data collected by means of our services are used exclusively to manage the content provided by users of the website.
In accordance to Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and the Organic Law 3/2018, of 5 December, on the protection of personal data and the guarantee of digital rights, personal data shall not be shared with companies, organizations or persons beyond the Museum Consortium. 4. Transfer to Third Parties

The Museum shall not share the personal data of the users with third parties, except in the following circumstances:

Users can exercise their right of access, rectification, cancellation and opposition of the processed data at any time, in accordance with current law. To this end, they can send an e-mail specifying which right they wish to exercise to museuciencies@bcn.cat, with an attached copy of their identification document.

The Museum shall only keep users’ data for the length of time necessary to comply with the stated purposes. When the personal data are not required for said purposes, and if current law does prohibit it, said data shall be blocked.

10. Updating of the Privacy Policy

Provided that it does not infringe current law, the Museum may modify and update the Privacy Policy at any time and without prior notice to the user. Users are encouraged to review the Privacy Policy in order to remain cognisant of any changes made to the policy.
