Description The media library is a free-access area of 95 square meters, separated from the main hall by a glass wall. It has a wide selection of books about natural sciences in general, with special emphasis on the biodiversity and geodiversity of our planet. The novelty of this new facility is that is gives users access to the only public database of animal and habitat sounds in Catalonia, the Natura Sonora Sounds Library.

The Media Library forms part of the Documentation Centre. It is an unpartitioned space with a computer area and a reading area. Here you can consult the media library Catalogue and borrow a copy of the documents. This resource centre has over 3,500 items -books, audiovisuals, maps, interactive games, and magazines- displayed on self-sevice shelves and storage units.

The Natura Sonora (Sound of Nature) collection contains 2,000 recordings containing of 80,000 sounds of animals and habitats. It also offers Sounds à la Carte, a unique and innovative programme where you can select the sounds you want to hear using search criteria such as species, habitat or geographic location. Listen to a hoopoe on a summer evening, to the raging of a tropical storm, or to the song of nocturnal birds.
