Name Sennen herbarium
Cite as BC-Sennen
Description The herbarium of Brother Sennen (Etienne Marcellin Granier-Blanc) (1861-1937) was purchased by Barcelona City Council from the school Escoles Cristianes de la Bonanova (La Salle Bonanova) in 1949-1950. Senna donated over 400,000 herbarium sheets to the main European botanical institutions of his day. The 10,309 sheets in the 30 series that form part of his exsiccate collection Plantes d'Espagne were prepared and edited in 1907-1937. This herbarium is crucial for the study of the numerous taxonomical proposals made by this author. It includes approximately 85,000 specimens.
