Description:

The Peregrine Falcon specializes in hunting birds of all sizes, from ducks and partridges, to pigeons and smaller passerines. Although it will hunt small mammals, reptiles and even insects, these do not form a large part of its diet. Its small rounded skull has a robust bill with a pointed tip, and is strongly down-curved. The upper part of the bill is serrated towards the tip, an adaptation that allows it kill its prey by cutting their spinal column at the neck.
