Description:

The Black-headed Gull is an opportunisitic predator that feeds on marine invertebrates, fish, other birds and even on rubbish and dead animals. Its skull is elongated and pear-shaped. Its hook-tipped bill is smaller than that of other species in the same genus. It feeds by flying low over the water surface and it will dive to capture prey with its bill, whose hooked shape prevents its prey from slipping away.
