The Eurasian Blackbird is an omnivorous passerine that feeds on invertebrates including insects and worms, and on fruit. Its diet varies according to the season and availability. It normally feeds on the ground, using its sight and hearing to locate worms, spiders, mirapods, slugs and other invertebates in the soil and leaf litter. However, it will also feed in trees, where it searches for caterpillars and fruits and berries.
