Balearena gymnesica

Type locality

“Top level of the low (2m) coastal cliff at Cala Pudent, in Camp de Tir, the eastern sector of Es Carnatge, in Palma de Mallorca, Mallorca Island, Balearic Islands (39º 32’ N, 2º 42’ E; UTM coordinates 31S DD 7477)”.

Toponymic note and update

Cala (=cove) Pudent, Camp de Tir (Pleistocene deposit) and Es Carnatge are localities in the municipality of Palma de Mallorca, Mallorca Island (Balearic Islands)

Holotype: Museu de Ciències Naturals (Zoologia) de Barcelona, MZB 2005-1022 (loc. tip.; shell).
